The app is free to download and use for any user with a Zip2Tax.com Online Lookup account. If you don’t have an Online Lookup account it’s not a problem. Just sign up for a risk free trial and check it out.

With the Zip2Tax sales and use tax calculator, you can look up sales or use tax rates at your current location as determined by your phone’s GPS so you don’t need to be precisely sure where you are standing to get a fairly accurate rate, or, you can punch in a ZIP code to see a listing of the possible matching tax jurisdictions. The Zip2Tax app also features Spot-On lookups for users needing a full street address match for exact door-step accuracy.

With a Zip2Tax Online Lookup account you also get access to full browser-based lookups via the Zip2Tax.com website, live U.S. based customer service, help with common sales tax related questions, and news and updates on sales and use tax issues affecting businesses in the U.S and Canada.

With a Zip2Tax Online Lookup subscription you also get access to full browser-based lookups via the Zip2Tax.com website, live U.S. based customer service, help with common sales tax related questions, and news and updates on sales and use tax issues affecting businesses in the U.S and Canada.

It would help us out if you could take a moment to rate this app on the iTunes store, and we would appreciate it very much if you would leave feedback. We do read feedback and try to provide solutions to problems or make improvements whenever possible.

Database Interface direct connect now uses API for added security

API for added security

In response to today’s reality where security breaches are one of every IT departments top concerns, Zip2Tax is addressing that concern by updating the sample codes for the Database Interface direct connect methods to take advantage of API for added security. The API provides your account with extra levels of validation to “hide” your activity and prevent data leakage and “SQL injection” attacks. This API masks your server’s information, adding firewalls between your data and potential security breaches.

ACTION IS REQUIRED: Please note, to take advantage of the benefits the API has to offer, you must replace the existing code in your system with the new code samples provided on our web site at API Connect Samples.

As an additional benefit, the new API can provide more information than the original direct connection could. While the sAPI for added securityamples provided here have the same data fields as the original samples had, the new API does contains more information which you may find of value. Data such as latitude and longitude, jurisdictional warning messages and even special notes on the taxability of certain items can be obtained if your coder follows the directions for the API and modifies the code following the same general parameters.

Although the older direct connect methods will continue to function, we will no longer provide customer support for them and we have removed the code sample pages from the live web site. Below, you will find a list of the original direct connect code and the updated API samples for your reference. We encourage you to switch over to the new code at your soonest convenience. Please call our offices at 866-492-8494 or e-mail info@zip2tax.com if you have any questions.

Web site updates – please excuse our dust!

Web site updates

Web site updates

Zip2Tax has just completed web site updates and a reorganization of our web site structure.
Web site updates
We moved most of our pages around for better organization, so you will need to update any bookmarks you may have saved in your Internet browser. Bookmarks made prior to July 1st will no longer function and you will get a 404 error. The site’s navigation didn’t change significantly, so you should be able to find the page you are looking for without too much trouble (we hope!)

If you are a .CSV table update customer, you will notice that the download link we sent out on June24th no longer works correctly. This is easily sidestepped by just going to www.zip2tax.com, logging in to your account, and navigating to http://www.zip2tax.com/Website/pagesAccount/z2t_account_TableDownloads.asp
iPhone users of our iTunes app will notice that it is not currently working. We hope to get this fixed in the very near future, but in the meantime, please feel free to use our mobile web site on any smart phone browser. Just go to http://z2t.mobi/ for a screen-friendly web experience.

You may possibly discover some broken links or misdirected pages. If you do, we sure would appreciate a heads up so we can get this site working optimally. Please e-mail any problems you find or fill out the “Contact Us” page.
We hope this move doesn’t prove to be overly inconvenient for you. We value your business.
