January 2019 Sales and Use Tax Rate Changes

The January 2019 Sales and Use Tax Rate tables were available to our customers on Friday, December 21, 2018.  There are many changes, as usual, for the start of the year.  Here are the jurisdictions by State that have changes since December.

ALABAMA

  • The city of Oakman AL

ARKANSAS

  • The counties of Baxter, Grant and Perry.
  • The cities of Hamburg, Piggott

ARIZONA

  • The cities of Douglas, Kingman, Marana

COLORADO

  • The cities of Berthoud, Fleming, Georgetown, Conifer MDT, Eagle/Vail MDT, Black Hawk, Central City, Denver, Minturn, and Manitou Springs.
  • The counties of Chaffee, Larimer, and Saguache

FLORIDA

  • The counties of Alachua, Broward, Collier, Hillsborough, Lee, Martin, Okaloosa, Saint Lucie, Washington

HAWAII

  • The counties of Hawaii and Kauai

IOWA

  • The cities of Warrant (unincorporated), New Virginia, and Saint Mary’s.
  • The city of Shelby was corrected so the 1% is now in the County rate column instead of the City rate column.

IDAHO

  • The city of Sun Valley

ILLINOIS

  • The cities of Belvidere, Harvey, Rockdale, and West Chicago.
  • The counties of Henry and Stark

KANSAS

  • The cities of Arkansas City, Glade, and Osawatomie

MINNESOTA

  • The counties of Goodhue, Dodge, and Sherburne.

MISSOURI

  • The cities of Clarksville, Caruthersville, Clarkton, Clever, Fredericktown, Indian Point, Greenwood, Lathrop, Matthews, New Hampton, Pendleton, and Pine Lawn.
  • The counties of Dekalb and Pike

NORTH DAKOTA

  • The cities of Bowman, Burlington, Enderlin, New Salem, and Towner.

NEBRASKA

  • The cities of Pender, Wahoo, Dakota City, and Randoph.

NEW MEXICO

  • The cities of Rio Rancho, Raton, Anthony, Aztec, Bayard, and Farmington.
  • The counties of Mora and Sandoval

OHIO

  • The county of Stark.

OKLAHOMA

  • The cities of Dustin and Hennessy
  • The counties of Jackson and Harmon

SOUTH DAKOTA

  • The cities of Trent and Interior; and the outlying boundaries of Winner.

TENNESSEE

  • The county of Macon.

TEXAS

  • Childress/Childress Municipal Development District
  • Sweetwater/Sweetwater Municipal Development District

UTAH

  • The county of Beaver

WASHINGTON STATE

  • Transportation Benefit Districts in Ephrata, Marysville and Ocean Shores

Some states had ZIP codes changed effective after July 2017.  Theses states include Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Ohio, Puerto Rico, and Wisconsin.

Rates July

July 2017 brings many changes to sales tax rates for 19 states.  Is your state listed?

In Alabama, tax rates changed for Citronelle, Hokes Bluff, Reform, Gurley, Albertville, Midland City and Ashville.

In Arkansas, tax rates changed for Damascus, Eureka Springs, Lamar, Lonoke, Plumerville and Garland County.

In Arizona, tax rates changed for Tucson and Payson.

In California, tax rates changed for Los Angeles County.

In Georgia, tax rates changed for the counties of Fayette, Randolph and Towns.

In Iowa, tax rates changed for Forest City.

In Illinois, tax rates changed for Bartonville, Lincolnshire, Carlock, Crete, Dix, Marion, Olympia Fields, Orland Hills, Pekin, Pittsburg, Sandwich, Spring Valley, Sterling, Villa Park, and the counties of Coles, Cumberland, Edgar, Iroquois, Jackson, Lee, Macon, McDonough, Montgomery, Peoria, Rock Island and Wabash.

In Kansas, tax rates changed for Butler and the counties of Kingman and Stevens.

In Minnesota, tax rates changed for Olmsted County.

In Missouri, tax rates changed for Doniphan, Eminence, Orrick, Piedmont and the counties of Macon, Marion, Monroe and Shelby.

In North Dakota, tax rates changed for Carpio.

In New Mexico, tax rates changed for Roswell, Clovis, Deming, Taos Ski Valley, Estancia and the counties of Bernalillo, Cibola, Hidalgo and Taos.

In Oklahoma, tax rates changed for Sperry and North Miami.

In South Dakota, tax rates changed for Dante, Lake City, Morristown and Toronto.

In Texas, tax rates changed for Hamlin.

In Utah, tax rates changed for Kearns and Magna.

In Washington, tax rates changed for Chehalis, Lacey and the county of Garfield.

In West Virginia, tax rates changed for Bluefield, Follansbee, Moundsville, New Cumberland, Princeton, Saint Albans, Shepherdstown, Sistersville and Wayne.

In Wyoming, tax rates changed for Niobrara County.

There were 13 states with ZIP code changes effective after June 2017 including California, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, New York, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Tax Changes for May 2017

As one of South Carolina’s  mottoes exclaims, “Prepared in Mind and Resources”; we prepared the changes in your sales & use tax resources effective May 1st for South Carolina and three other states.

Each of these Tax Lookupcounties in South Carolina will impose a new 1% Capital Projects Tax.

  • Allendale
  • Barnwell
  • Greenwood
  • Horry
  • McCormick
  • Williamsburg

Newberry County reimposed the 1% Capital Projects Tax; Union County will impose a new 1% Local Option Tax, and Charleston County increased the Transportation Tax.

Other changes in sales and/or use tax rates this month include:

CALIFORNIA: A change for Ukiah.

NEW MEXICO:  Changes for Cuba and Hidalgo County.
