ZIP Code Changes by State

Some states had ZIP codes changed effective after July 2017.  Theses states include Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Ohio, Puerto Rico, and Wisconsin.

There are no significant tax changes since May to report other than Jasper County, South Carolina; and some routine adjustments made to areas of Arizona, Missouri, and Washington.

Only 8 states with ZIP code changes: Minnesota, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Puerto Rico, South Carolina and Texas.

Don’t get too complacent, July 1st is typically a big month for jurisdictional rate changes.  I’m getting to work on the list right now!

Prepared in Mind and Resources

As one of South Carolina’s  mottoes exclaims, “Prepared in Mind and Resources”; we prepared the changes in your sales & use tax resources effective May 1st for South Carolina and three other states.

Each of these Tax Lookupcounties in South Carolina will impose a new 1% Capital Projects Tax.

  • Allendale
  • Barnwell
  • Greenwood
  • Horry
  • McCormick
  • Williamsburg

Newberry County reimposed the 1% Capital Projects Tax; Union County will impose a new 1% Local Option Tax, and Charleston County increased the Transportation Tax.

Other changes in sales and/or use tax rates this month include:

ALABAMA: Changes for Brookside and Rockford

CALIFORNIA: A change for Ukiah.

NEW MEXICO:  Changes for Cuba and Hidalgo County.
